In a letter that filled my heart with both pride and humility, I was recently informed of a recognition that goes beyond personal achievement—it's a testament to the incredible journey we've embarked on together as a community. The Gallaudet University Alumni Association has graciously named me the 2024 honoree of the GUAA Outstanding Young Alumnus Award, a distinction given to young alumni who, within 15 years of their graduation, have brought favorable recognition to our alma mater through notable achievements.
This honor is not just about my individual efforts but reflects the collective spirit and resilience of the DeafPlus community. As an advocate and social media influencer, my aim has always been to shine a light on our stories, challenges, and triumphs. This recognition from Gallaudet University, an institution that has played a pivotal role in my own personal and professional growth, is incredibly meaningful.
